Indiana Breeder Elected to National Simmental Board

BOZEMAN, MT. Brian DeFreese, West Point, IN, has been elected to a three-year term on the 16-member Board of Trustees of the American Simmental Association (ASA).
 
In addition to raising Simmental cattle, he serves as manager of the Purdue University Beef Unit, made up of 250 SimAngus females. The program is also made up of 100 replacement females and 250 steers, which are used for university research. DeFreese also is the owner of Shawnee Cattle Company, which markets through the Hoosier Beef Congress Simmental Sale and the Design in Mind Production sale.

Virginia Breeder Elected Chairman of the American Simmental Board

BOZEMAN, MT. William H. (Bill) McDonald, Blacksburg, VA, has been elected as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Simmental Association. McDonald succeeds Mike Mallett, Lampasas, TX.

BOZEMAN, MT. Scott Cowger, Kansas City, MO, has been elected to a three-year term on the 16-member Board of Trustees of the American Simmental Association (ASA).

BOZEMAN, MT. Jonathon L. Willis, has been elected to a three-year term on the 16-member Board of Trustees of the American Simmental Association (ASA).

Georgia Breeder Elected Vice Chairman  of American Simmental Board

BOZEMAN, MT. Jessie Driggers, Glennville, GA, has been elected Vice Chairman of the 16-member Board of Trustees of the American Simmental Association. Driggers succeeds Bill McDonald, Blacksburg, VA, who assumed the position of Chairman. Driggers was formally seated during ASA’s 44th Annual Meeting activities held January 14, in Denver, CO.

North Carolina Breeder Receives World Simmental Federation Honors

BOZEMAN, MT. During the American Simmental Association’s (ASA) most recent Annual Meeting in Denver, Frank Bell of Bell Farms, Burlington, NC, was added to the impressive list of individuals and family operations, which have been awarded the prestigious World Simmental-Fleckvieh Federation’s (WSFF) Golden Book Award.

Press Release: Tennessee Breeder Top Contributor to Annual  American Simmental Association Foundation Auction

BOZEMAN, MT. The highly popular tour package donated by Hudson Pines Farm, Sleepy Hallow, NY, each year to the American Simmental Association (ASA) Annual Foundation Auction, was purchased for the second year in a row by Jim and Gail Ligon, Cookeville, TN. The auction was held during the Annual Meeting and Convention, January 15, in Denver, CO.
