ERT - Economically Relevant Traits
Economically relevant traits (ERTs) are those that are directly associated with either a cost or a source of revenue. Several EPDs represent traits that are not ERTs and instead represent indicator traits (i.e., traits that may be genetically related to indicator traits.) It is critical to focus on ERTs when making selection decisions. |
