The Carcass Merit Program (CMP) is in need of additional bulls to test this spring. The program will sample a diverse group of young sires among commercial cow herds across the nation providing valuable insight for a sire’s genetic merit by capturing data across all progeny from birth to harvest. Included in the enrollment is an F250K DNA test performed on the nominated sire, low-density DNA tests on every terminal calf, the possibility for feed intake data, and a guaranteed 12 carcass records reported on progeny from every nominated sire. Bulls will be able to use the CMP logo and once the test has been completed each bull will be featured in our annual CMP report. [insert link to article]
The test is currently underway and bulls can be placed right away.
