Job Opening: DNA Services Specialist

Employment: Full-time, On-Site

The American Simmental Association (ASA) is seeking a full-time staff member to support an established team within the DNA department. This person will interact with all facets of the beef cattle industry through facilitating and reporting DNA testing. The position is critical in upholding the Association’s mission to provide an unyielding commitment to scientific principles and as a hub for the industry's most progressive seedstock producers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with department staff, other cattle breed associations, and DNA testing laboratories.
• Provide professional assistance and communicate effectively with co-workers and Association members, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate a diligent, detail-oriented approach to tasks, including but not limited to data entry, DNA testing submissions, and DNA sample cataloging.
• Manage multiple tasks and prioritize a variety of assignments to meet deadlines and expectations.
